About me

My name is Corrado Viettone and I was born in Rome on the 16th february 1971.
Since i was ten i was very passionate with flight and so I decided to enroll for the Italian Air Force Academy that i entered in 1990. From 1993 to 1995 I lived in the USA taking the Undergraduate Specialized Pilot Training in Vance AFB, Enid, Oklahoma, where I obtained the Military Pilot Flight License in 1995.

After coming back to Italy i became very passionate with informatics, so, even if still working for the Air Force, together with an old friend of mine I founded Dataworks, an informatics society with several core businesses, from education to resale and networking.

My passion for photography has grown up together with the passion for travel. Now i cannot imagine myself travelling without my camera with which i take digital memories of this wonderful world that i see and i want to remember and share through this website.
Even if at first i bought a film camera (Nikon F90X) and begun shooting black and white rolls that i was used to develop by myself in my own darkroom, the advent of digital photography has almost completely substituted the older film techniques in my photography.
Now i use (with great satisfaction) a Nikon D200 with Nikkor and Sigma lenses plus some accessories like a battery pack, a tripod and few filters.

My favourite subjects are natural landscapes, the most dramatic the better they are for me, but also all the exploits of mother nature like sunsets, sunrises, clouds, animals, rivers and whatever else my eyes can fall over.

Since 1999 I'm also a licensed scuba diver, since then i never stopped exploring this parallel and fashinating world that works under different laws with different sounds, life forms and lights. From scuba diving to underwater photography the step is short, so I bought an underwater housing for my Canon compact camera with which i shot pictures and clips in the silent world.

In this website you can find two section dedicated to photography in the two dimensions I'm used to stay: air, with aerial photography from helicopters, and water, with the underwater photography section.

I hope you'll enjoy my website and it's contents, if you want to use any of my photographs for any kind of use please drop me a line, I'll be glad to see my pictures used in any way but i just would like to know about it.

Thank you for your attention,

Corrado
